Anti Aging

The Anti-Aging Advantage

By Ryan Saba

Even though staying healthy and active as we age sometimes feels impossible, nothing could be further from the truth. Many adults accept changes in body composition, mobility and cognitive performance as natural parts of aging. However, many factors within our control can help protect against the signs of aging. These factors include hormone production, retention of lean muscle, strength and cognitive capabilities. The activity of these hormones does not decrease because we age—we age because the activity of these hormones decreases. Fortunately, we now have the option to promote and support healthy hormonal activity throughout our lives with proper supplementation.

The foundation of anti-aging is based on hormone production.  HGH, or human growth hormone, is the master hormone that drives the growth and development of the body. It causes the liver to produce powerful insulin-like growth factors (IGF), which contribute to the maintenance of lean body mass and the health of the body’s vital organs.  Research has proven that HGH-secreting cells of the pituitary gland do not die; they maintain their ability to make significant amounts of natural growth hormone.

As part of the aging process, however, less HGH circulates through the body, because the pituitary gland is not stimulating its production.Products featuring potent amino acids and nutrients that are combined in a precise peptide formulation with other biologically active nutrients work synergistically to effectively raise HGH levels. Powerful amino acids such as L-Glutamine, L-Arginine, L-Lysine, Glycine and Colosotrum, have been shown to increase HGH levels.  This increase stimulates the production of Human Growth Hormone in the body to promote strength, muscle retention and the maintenance of energy and endurance.

The next level of anti-aging deals with maintaining mobility. As we all know, aging can also affect our bones and joints. All of the stress on our bodies endured when we were younger has a way of catching up with us and it is likely to show in even the smallest ways. Activities that seem simple often lead to discomfort later. It is important to make sure our bones and joints are properly cared for while remaining active as we age.Ingredients such as glucosamine, pine bark extract and hyaluronic acid have been shown to offset the joint pain sometimes associated with the normal aging process.  Pine bark extract is known to support relief from inflammation, and a combination of glucosamine and hyaluronic acid will support healthy production and maintenance of both synovial fluid cartilage, allowing you to stay on the move. The final component of anti-aging is maintaining optimum mind-body balance. The loss of muscle mass has been scientifically proven to have an adverse affect on the aging population. As we lose muscle mass, the effects on everyday activity become more apparent. Aging adults can maintain both an alert mind and active body with ingredients such as branched chain amino acids (BCAA) and huperzine A.  Huperzine A is known for improving and enhancing memory and cognitive function–to the point where it has been compared directly in clinical trials with prescription medications–while BCAAs promote muscle retention and a reduction of muscle fatigue. To stay active and healthy as we get older, it is imperative to begin as soon possible in to address the three primary aspects of aging:  hormone production, mobility and mind-body balance.  It is never too late, and if you haven’t gotten started there is never a better day than today.
