DV – Daily Value or Requirements
It has been estimated that in order to get 100 percent of the Daily Value (DV) of all the vitamins and minerals, you would need to eat nearly four thousand calories daily, within the context of a well-balanced diet.
Unless you are a full-time fitness trainer, most of us do not have the time to burn off all of those extra calories. The USDA reports that, despite the fact that many Americans indicate that they try to eat a balanced diet, the percentage of those who actually do is only around 10 percent, while only 17 percent eat the recommended number of servings of fruit per day.
This is where choosing the proper nutritional supplements can be beneficial in the maintenance of good health and weight management. From Vitamin A to the mineral zinc, the body requires vitamins and minerals to function properly. These nutrients work collectively in every cell, tissue, organ and organ system with the body and are essential to our well-being. In today’s fast paced society, our diet is often filled with high calorie, nutrient-poor food choices, requiring the support of nutritional supplement to fill in the gaps in our diet.
